Pebble Creek
Ski Area is Celebrating 60 Years of Winter Sports Fun
This the afternoon, a Stacy Smith Fun Race for Kids
is scheduled.
Then,
persons of all ages are invited for dancing and fun at The Snow
Ball in Pebble Creek’s Lodge. The Snow Ball will start 5:00.
The Snow Queen will make a special appearance at the Snow Ball
and perhaps a skiing appearance on the
Aspen
as well. Between music sets, Pebble
Creek will invite guests to sample birthday cake and wish the
area another 60 years of successful winter fun. To
add to the festivities, dress clothes, glow necklaces and
bracelets are suggested.
Once
darkness descends on the mountain, guests will be treated to the
visual delight of 50 skiers and boarders traversing The Ridge by
torchlight.
In the spirit of the Olympic Torch Run, torches carried
by professional skiers and boarders will wind their way in a
procession down the mountain. The parade will begin at about
7:30 pm with fireworks at the end. The community is invited to
watch this exciting event. In addition, anyone who can see
Pebble Creek’s night-lights should be able to see the parade
and fireworks from their location.
The
Aspen
area and restaurant will be open for night skiing and boarding
until 9:30 pm. Lift tickets are requited for night skiing. There
is no charge for the Snow Ball and watching the Torch Light
Parade.
The celebration continues Sunday with a special
anniversary Pocatello Ski Association Day with the Rockin' the
Ridge Slalom and Après Ski Party as the lifts close.
